History of DNS Made Easy
2001
Steven Job wanted to break the stigma that only corporations could leverage internet hosting because it was inherently complex and expensive.
That year, he created a dynamic DNS hosting service that was powerful enough to host user DNS information on a global network, but easy enough for a home-user to use with limited experience.
2003
The DNS Made Easy that you know and love was taking shape. We released DNS Made Easy Control Panel 2.0, which featured DNS Failover, Load Balancing, and HTTP Redirection. We began the transition of our nameservers to IP Anycast.
2004 - 2006
Over the next two years, all remaining nameservers were upgraded to IP Anycast.
2009
Our network was fully transitioned from third-party network providers to a solely in-house owned and operated network on our private IP space.
We expanded our network into Europe with points of presence in London, UK and Frankfurt, Germany
2010
DNS Made Easy launched a GeoDNS service named Global Traffic Director
We faced off against a malicious botnet which flooded servers with over 200 Gbps of data. Service was quickly restored and an investigation initiated to seek out the source of the vicious attack.
2011
Expanded into Asia with a new PoP in Hong Kong
2012
REST based API was released and launched proprietary ANAME records to address a requirement for CDN services to have a host name at the root.
2013
We launched Constellix, an integrated traffic management suite for GeoDNS and network monitoring.
Expanded to Australia with a point of presence in Equinix in Sydney, Australia.
2015
We released Real-Time Statistics, instant analytics of a user's domains on the DNS Made Easy network.
Opened three new PoPs in Amsterdam, Tokyo, and Singapore.
Developed and released our revolutionary ANAME records.
2017
We released the DNS Analytics platform that allows you to see your query data in real time.
2020
We released Real-Time Traffic Anomaly Detection
Added POPs in South America , South Africa, and India
2021
Increased presence in Canada, France, and Sweden.
Added 5x more peering capacity.
